..something will be seriously wrong if I don't share Easter afterglow
..something will be seriously wrong if I don't share Easter afterglow What is Easter and why must it mean anything to you and me.?why care about it.. ?why bother to find out what happened, when it happened how it happened ..and who were the lucky ones to make this Grandest Discovery.?As most Easter vigils go in whatever church this may be... God is never stingy in bestowing His love, joy - yes...even when we didn't lift a finger to care about Easter, Holy Week..Lent or Jesus for that matter. The Easter Vigil simply unfolds to the faithful who flock to the church -- and depending on the state of the heart and mind -- how open or closed or prepared it may be -- is the amount of knowledge, renewed faith, joy and love that one recieves.
But let's be honest. Many times and not just on Easter .. it could be Christmas ... it could be after a beautiful retreat or spiritual seminar/recollection ... we're just so high in the Spirit ... as tho' we had a special bath..where not only our skin gets cleansed but our blood and organs as well... it's a cleansing that produces as a fruit incredible joy - becoz we connected with the Lord Jesus and our faith comes alive, spectacular and true... But count a few days..a week perhaps ..and for others... oh dear..just the morning after and then we seem to be back to ground zero
... the cloud of darkness, heaviness..anxiety.. worldliness..pettiness.. ordinariness /drabness or worldliness of our daily life ---you name it --threatens to engulf us again....!

Did Easter happen..and if it did where is the connection with real life..real time.?
a bit fearfully we view the horizon... egads , same elements over there... difficult people to deal with and this would be family, friends, enemies, strangers who take turns to try and bring out again the monster in you
... a relationship that is still laced with anger , unforgiveness..vindictiveness... there will still be bills to pay...tons of work to do, if there is work people are sick whether in the mind heart or bodies and yikes you find out you yourself have some health issues to deal with..the tv, cable , Facebook and internet are on again --- of perhaps they never were turned off --- even Mother Nature has an aggressive welcome back stance : ozone layer confirming malfunction and red-hot rays make your day.......ERRRR H-O-T.
Soon you will be navigating the highways , trying hard not to lose your cool... or be a commuter on the trains and buses -- Manila , if you're a commuter the rule is :"Matira ang matibay!" hehe...so now you will ask.... plaintively :

My dear brother and sister... the world may not have changed.. but celebrating Jesus and believing everything He stands for ... believing, claiming His Resurrection... these effect a marvelous change in us...in us... too awesome to even try to describe it -- the simplest way put :HE GAVE US BACK OUR LIFE AND IDENTITY AS CHILDREN OF GOD.
So there's still some fightin' and nastiness at home.. and some relationships seem beyond reconciliation -- to even think you could be reconciled to that monster whoever he/she may be makes your blood pressure rise... there are still the 1001 challenges in life and trials that multiply ---- but that's alright... we have recieved Jesus and His Word..., we have repented of our sins ...we have recieved the Easter message.. and like Mary Magdalene , Peter, the apostles, the two clueless disciples walking on the road to Emmaus .. like them we now have the capacity to be transformed and to help others experience this as well ..
It is us who must change ... for those who believe in Christ's Resurrection --life will never be the same , we will want to share it to the world , and we will desire to be effective in sharing it...and that is what matters for now.
Looking back..the apostles early disciples, the Blessed Mother and Mary Magdalene did not find a Roman Emperor eager to accept them or a contrite Pontius Pilate... oh no..it even got worse... lions , beasts and tortures in colosseums awaited them yet...they were prepared... the Lord didnot forsake them and He poured out His Resurrection Power upon them.
Easter bunnies are cute and cuddly ..but Easter People-- those who will not be shattered by death..who will refuse the bondage of sin.. who will rely totally on their Risen Lord for wisdom, love and courage.... the Easter People will help restore the world to its former beauty .

If your children or spouse seem as tho' it will take both North and South Pole glaciers to melt before their hearts melt and they mend their ways to obey Jesus ..donot be discouraged..donot close the doors on them... Jesus is risen..and we must untiringly work for everyone's salvation.
HE IS RISEN HE IS RISEN. .. let it be written , engraved in our hearts... the message dissolved in our blood and strengthening our very bones, clearing our minds to the Truth preached by our Lord , inflaming our hearts with His divine love.
Go and make the world a kinder place to live in..marvelous, magnificent Easter People
