Ave Maria:
Happy happy Easter dear friends and family...strangers..and i pray please..no foes
... but to those whom I have hurt in one way or another pls forgive me this blessed season of Easter ( 50 days till Pentecost Sunday)... may our risen Lord sanctify everything we think, do and say..and then as an added Easter gift to us all increase our gift of discernment - so that we know for sure when we are on the right track --- ah yes the path our Saviour walked ever so humbly and willingly -- and know too and be horrified when we are being led by the enemy straight to the slaughterhouse - where not just our physical bodies will be taken but our souls as well.
It is enough that we sin and we are fully aware of our decision and then its terrible consequences but it is quadruply killing -- when the devil runs circles around us... making us -- or prompting us to do the craziest most horrid things --- and we don't even realize we are his dummies -- que horror talaga...
clueless or worse we actually think we are doing the right thing..ayun pala we are going so very much against the Will of God... that's the real Scare...when we don't know or acknowledge at all that we wallow in sin... beholden to the lies of satan...committing sin upon sin upon sin until the word sin has been erased from all our dictionaries ... makes us remember one of the 7 Last Words :"Father ,forgive them them for they know not what they do..." No wonder, no wonder JESUS included this prayer during his last hours on the cross... because we Needed it.
Easter thoughts or Easter realizations?
oh my goodness ..some days we think God must either be incredibly deaf because He doesn't seem to listen to our prayers or care about our pleas for help...othertimes we wish we could turn His voice off just like we do to the radio or tv... when we don't like the music or show playing we
just switch it off..
But nobody can tell God to buzz off..
Had lunch with family and friends last Easter Sunday... a very elderly friend soon turning 80 -was present ... he is so devoted to Jesus
..it is always a joy conversing with him... the past years due to his advancing age and failing health -- he spends his holy week having a personal retreat -- in particular from holy Thursday till Easter Sunday : in fasting sacrifice and prayer... meditating the Word of God...and then of course attending holy mass on Easter Sunday.....just waiting on the Lord.... I couldn't help asking him for the details of what happens during these retreats.... and was so struck when he mentioned how after meditating on God's Word or after speaking his heart out to God in prayer..he then WAITS for the Lord to speak....
I wuz like.... "Really brother.... what happens... what happens? what does the Lord say? what does he tell you?"
In my mind I thought:..... "wow... in the 'today' world... we human beings will do anything but wait, hehe. It has to be now,now..now... think now...do it now... feel it now.... and even in building relationships we don't want to wait for love and friendship to grow..we just want to expect from people... and then we resent it when they fail us... so maybe even with God we want to try this bullying tactic. haha, imagine our arrogance in sending this message to God: " Where are you Lord? I need you ..urgent ito... please magparamdam ka na NOW na."
Ka arrogante ng tao.
Walang waiting..waiting on the Lord.
we are a foolish stubborn species.
so our sharing and conversation with the elder brother went on until we had to part ways.
It made me think.
For sure Jesus can make dramatic revelations to men and women who truly seek him in prayer..who abide in his commands and joyfully serve him... our Lord gives those special consolations. and He has his purposes for giving these treats or rewards if you want to call it that to these faithful souls... but how bout regular folks like you and me.?
would the Lord bother to speak to us... dare we expect an answer from him, a revelation..a specific guidance?
Yes,yes yes..
.. well so maybe our spiritual antenna is not as finely tuned as these spiritually mature souls .... but God being God... ever generous and merciful... He will speak to us ... maybe not the way He spoke to Moses... or Elijah --- my dear
....forget the burning bush... an actual voice sounding like thunder...tsk,tsk,tsk.... perhaps for us..all the answers we need will be in the bible... or the teachings of the Catholic church... perhaps the voice or guidance of God will manifest in wise words of parents ..the timely counsel of a friend who will not flatter us or cater to our caprices.... perhaps God will speakpowerfully thru certain events in our life.
maybe when our mind is so cluttered with all worldly worries and stress that we caused upon ourselves. then we must halt--stop dead in our tracks..and listen intently....perhaps then, we will hear God's voice in the sweet songs of birds..who sing the whole day for us, but we never hear nor appreciate them -- becoz d-u-h they are just birds
..and we don't realize they are urging us to sing too our own praises to God rather than rant and rave about our problems...
wouldn't we like to know how St Francis of Assissi conversed with the animals... ?he could understand them and they could understand him... utter harmony with each other and with God... Creation recognizing its Creator.
eto pa...And then we just hate the writing on the wall... meaning in some instances ..we don't even need God to make known his will on a certain issue because we know very well how He would like us to act on it.... but WE ARE UNWILLING TO OBEY HIM
.... yet the writing on the wall compels us to do some soul searching... and to ask our self why we refuse to do things God's way?
if God sent His only begotten Son to save us from our sins... then listening to our prayers and sending us the aid we think we need is so very easy for Him to do... but really all the help..all the answers we will ever, ever need we will find when we consider and reflect on the Son of God who came for us. Christ is enough.
in the Old Testament Remember how the enemies of the Israelites, God's Chosen people would taunt them: " Ahh..where is your God, He has forgotten you... how pitiful you are." .but in the most crucial moments God would either speak out thru his prophets or do something so incredible --- you just could not deny how He loved his people! and the enemies had to shut up.
this Easter season..may we hear each day the most incredible message of the Father : " I have sent you Jesus... He is everything you need..and He is Risen from the dead."
Alleluia, alleluia!!! Happy Easter to all!..................................... te mye
Gospel JN 20:11-18
Mary Magdalene stayed outside the tomb weeping.
And as she wept, she bent over into the tomb
and saw two angels in white sitting there,
one at the head and one at the feet
where the Body of Jesus had been.
And they said to her, “Woman, why are you weeping?”
She said to them, “They have taken my Lord,
and I don’t know where they laid him.”
When she had said this, she turned around and saw Jesus there,
but did not know it was Jesus.
Jesus said to her, “Woman, why are you weeping?
Whom are you looking for?”
She thought it was the gardener and said to him,
“Sir, if you carried him away,
tell me where you laid him,
and I will take him.”
Jesus said to her, “Mary!”
She turned and said to him in Hebrew, “Rabbouni,”
which means Teacher.
Jesus said to her, “Stop holding on to me,
for I have not yet ascended to the Father.
But go to my brothers and tell them,
‘I am going to my Father and your Father,
to my God and your God.’”
Mary went and announced to the disciples,
“I have seen the Lord,”
and then reported what he had told her.
