The Wildest Card

Ave Maria:-)

May peace be your gift at Christmas and your blessing all year through.:x lovestruck

It is our nth Christmas dear brother and sister.. it is also a Christmas that has its unique flavor..unique set of of circumstances , environment, particular setting...status quo -- indeed every Christmas is different in the sense that we are older , haha... we may be with family or away from our homes, loved ones..hundreds of miles away from country and kin - perhaps in a place where people don't even know nor care about Christmas... situations , even our spirtual and physical  health varies... thank God, the  meaning and impact  Christmas  goes beyond all these things.

Even if we be placed in the middle of a warzone.. be caught in the bitterest of conflicts and misunderstandings...still..Christmas remains Christmas because it is all about God's love for man..how He had thrown the Wildest card , the most Unimaginable , Unthinkable thing to do.,, the most Improbable solution for all of man's miseries ...God decides He will save us and clean up the mess we've made and which we are continuing to make each time we loosen our hold on the Lord.

Our capacity to sin and the depth of our brokenness has reached a scale where many would be ashamed to call himself a human being or a child of God.:-S worried Individually, as a family..community, or as the whole human race we've unwittingly made a covenant with the devil -- it happens whenever we choose his principles over and above those that Christ  has preached to us. We settle for a compromise ... thinking the bargain we enter saves us from distress -- only to realize often when it's too late... it's the enemy laughing all the way to hell with our souls chained to him...And we lose everything of eternal value.

Here is a portion of today's gospel: Zechariah's (John the Baptist's  father)prayer :

In the tender compassion of our God
the dawn from on high shall break upon us,
to shine on those who dwell in darkness and the shadow of death,
and to guide our feet into the way of peace."

May Jesus The Word made flesh ease us out of the darkness and evil shadows that hound our lives. May we not be afraid to humbly acknowledge our sins.. to bare our inner wounds.. to confess our brokenness , our failure to love and to forgive... and to trust again.

As we dwell on the image of our Lord... a babe in swaddling clothes carried by his young mother... with Joseph protecting them.. may this scene make us believe..it will be alright.... no matter what the gravity of life's troubles ... it will be alright:) happy ..God will see us thru safely becoz He has come for us through Jesus Christ . Any God who agrees to be born like his creatures..and who decides to offer His life in exchange for ours..is the truest, greatest Only God worth believing and dying for.

Maligayang Pasko sa inyong lahat................................................... Dilbert, Maye, Josh Puno

Luke1 :67-79
Zechariah his father, filled with the Holy Spirit, prophesied, saying:

"Blessed be the Lord, the God of Israel;
for he has come to his people and set them free.
He has raised up for us a mighty Savior,
born of the house of his servant David.
Through his prophets he promised of old
that he would save us from our enemies,
from the hands of all who hate us.
He promised to show mercy to our fathers
and to remember his holy covenant.
This was the oath he swore to our father Abraham:
to set us free from the hand of our enemies,
free to worship him without fear,
holy and righteous in his sight
all the days of our life.
You, my child, shall be called the prophet of the Most High,
for you will go before the Lord to prepare his way,
to give his people knowledge of salvation
by the forgiveness of their sins.
In the tender compassion of our God
the dawn from on high shall break upon us,
to shine on those who dwell in darkness and the shadow of death,
and to guide our feet into the way of peace."
